Meg is flying into Portland to be with Trig and me for the next week and a half.  Most importantly, I miss my wife and can’t wait to see her.  Secondly, she’s bringing our new StarLink for satellite internet.  For clarity, number one is my wife flying into see us, number two is the StarLink.

Our StarLink started off in Carson City, CA, got lost in Homestead, FL and finally showed up in the Keys a half an hour before Meg had to leave for the airport.  Then traveled with Meg from Miami to San Jose and on to Portland.

So far, we’re pretty happy with the StarLink.  We both come from computer networking backgrounds.  We understand congestion, oversubscription, latency, visible obstructions, etc.  We bought it for remote access and understand the limitations.

With (2) 200 watt solar panels, we can easily run our StarLink, two laptops and charge other devices without impacting our power capacity.
