We are just a few miles from Rocky Mountain Nat’l Forest. I was surprised to learn access to the park and many other parks is $30. Yes, $30 just to drive in. So, we decided to buy an annual pass for all of the parks for $80. Best investment I have made in a while. For the past two nights we have been entering the park around 6:30pm to get a view of the Elk coming into the valley to bed down for the night.
Fishing inside the park on the upper Colorado can be challenging. The water is extremely clear and not very deep in many areas. But the scenery is incredible.
