Creede, Colorado

It took more effort than you can imagine finding the new truck and camper (mostly the truck due to microchip shortages), but our fishing/ camper adventure has begun…

The first stop that I count on our trip is Creede, CO.  The dog and I left our house in the Florida Keys and drove four days to get there.  I really don’t count the stops on the way to Creede.  They were just places to sleep and hit the road again the next morning.

Our good friends have a historic house just southwest of Creede that use to be a fish hatchery.

They offered to let us stay in the house, but we just used the camper while next to the house.  I have come to learn the term is called, ‘mooch-docking’.  Boondocking is what we are set up for.  i.e.  The ability to camp anywhere without electricity or water, etc.  Basically relying on your solar panels, water stored in your tanks, propane to run the generator, fridge and heater.  Mooch-docking is similar, but you can always go in the house, do laundry, grab their internet code, etc.  Thanks Randy and Tronnia!!
